More dates

Curated year clocks (always from January 1). Includes year 1 AD. Not every calendar year — only pages that meet the richness bar.

Methodology

Event pages pick a single day (or UTC timestamp). Year pages pick January 1 of that year. We show calendar Y/M/D plus total days and a ticking clock. Disputed endings are called out in FAQ and sources — we do not invent casualty statistics.

Looking for current local time: use /time. For upcoming holidays, use /countdown.

FAQ

How is this different from US5 Time?

/time shows current clocks and zones across the USA. How long ago answers “how much time has passed since a historical date or year” with curated facts — it is not nested under Time.

Event pages vs year pages?

Event pages use a specific day (e.g. Sep 2, 1945 for WWII). Year pages always anchor on January 1 of that year. Example: /how-long-ago/2020 vs /how-long-ago/911 (the 9/11 entity).

Do you cover every year in history?

No. Only curated years that meet the richness bar (facts, timeline, FAQ, sources). Year 1 AD is included; year 911 AD is not, because /how-long-ago/911 is reserved for September 11.
